Traffic cops kept busy

C-K Police 401At about 2:30 a.m. on March 2, police investigated a vehicle near McNaughton Avenue West and St Clair Avenue. A female driver who was operating a 2008 Honda was stopped. A road side breath test was conducted. The driver failed the road side test and as result the 28-year-old Sarnia resident was issued a seven-day licence suspension and her vehicle was towed.

At 2:40 a.m. on March 2 police investigated a vehicle on Talbot Trail near the Evergreen Cemetery in Harwich. There were two occupants in a 2007 Dodge. The male driver exhibited signs of impairment and after a road side investigation, he was arrested for driving with over .80 blood alcohol in his system. A breath test confirmed the road side tests and as a result a 21-year-old Rondeau Park resident was charged and released with a later Chatham court date. The vehicle was towed by police. 

A 50-year-old Harwich driver has been charged with failing to yield after a two vehicle collision on Longwoods Road and Standaert Drive in Chatham Township. The accident took place at 5:15 p.m. on March 1. There was about $2500 in damages and neither of the male drivers was injured.

An 80-year-old female driver from Chatham has been charged with failing to yield. Police investigated a two vehicle collision which took place at 7:25 p.m. on March 1. The accident took place near Maple Street and St. Clair Avenue in Chatham. There were no injuries and over $2000.00 in damages were caused.
