Cobra’s Taekwondo Training Centre and Sarnia Olympic Taekwondo Academy - PCT had athletes competing at the 2016 Canada Open held in Montreal Quebec February 12-14.

Friday Urvashi Thongham competed in the senior female -46 kg weight class, Danielle Ennett in the senior female -67 kg weight class and Akshay Thongham in the junior male -55 kg weight category.

In the second day of the competition local athlete Keegan Kovar won his quarter-final match by point gap 14-2 against a player from Minnesota USA.

Keegan met up with the previous weekend US Open champion and eventual gold medalist of Canada Open from New Jersey USA in the semifinals and came out with bronze.

In the third day of the competition Chloe Pretty went out in quarter finals to the Canadian Team member of this division and Pan Am silver medalist with a score of 4-0.

Danielle won her first match in juniors 4-3 and came up with bronze being defeated in the semis against Mexico by a score of 5-2.

Mexico went on to win gold in this division.
