Men charged with public drunkenness
Two men were charged with being intoxicated in a public place during the last 24 hours.
Yesterday afternoon, police located an intoxicated man laying behind a business on King Street in Chatham. The 49-year-old Chatham was arrested as he was unable to care for himself. He was charged with being intoxicated in a public place and released when sober.
Just after midnight, police responded to an establishment in Chatham in regards to an unwanted man. The intoxicated man was asked to leave by staff but he refused. Police say the man was taken into custody for his own safety. The 36-year-old Chatham man was charged with being intoxicated in a public place. He will be released when sober.
