Two local citizens are being recognized for their courage after helping a driver who was involved in a crash on January 21st.

Police say Wayne and Evan Lambrecht were first to arrive on scene of a single motor collision in the area of Main Line and Zone Road 6 at around 1 p.m.

Prior to the arrival of emergency crews, they quickly extinguished the vehicle fire and provided medical attention to the driver who was trapped.

Nearly an hour later, the driver was extricated and air lifted to London with life-threatening injuries. The driver is now at home recovering from his injuries.

“In the face of adversity, both Wayne and Evan exemplified courage, compassion and teamwork,” stated police officials.

At yesterday’s Police Services Board meeting, they were presented with Board Citations, for their courageous and heroic actions.
