United Way raises over $1.5 million to invest in Chatham-Kent

Community members joined together this morning at the Links of Kent to celebrate United Way’s campaign achievement of $1,565,140.

“There are so many people to thank. From all of the volunteers, the cabinet members, staff and of course the donors. Nothing is possible without all of them. I have been able to see and experience so much goodness in our community over the past few months. It has truly been an amazing experience for me personally, but it’s really awesome to know that our efforts will go to help so many people in Chatham-Kent,” said Caterina Dawson, campaign chair for 2018.

The morning consisted of a celebration as United Way was able to announce that they had exceeded their goal of $1.559 Million Dollars. The organization also unveiled a new volunteer matching website that was donated to the community by Gigit and is the culmination of months of research and input. An updated website for United Way was also unveiled that will make learning about United Way and getting involved much easier. These websites are set to go live later this month.
