Intoxicated man arrested on outstanding warrant
A Chatham man was arrested by Windsor police on an outstanding warrant for assault, utter threats and failing to appear in court.
Due to his level of intoxication, the man was transported by CKPS officers to a local hospital. He was treated and remained at hospital for further assessment.
Police say the man was released from custody unconditionally at the hospital and the warrant will be executed at a later time.
Break and enter in Chatham
Sometime Saturday overnight someone broke into an unoccupied residence by forcing open the garage door. Numerous tools and a 10ft metal press were taken from the property. Police say the incident remains under investigation.
Woman arrested on outstanding warrant
A woman attended police headquarters and turned herself in on an outstanding CKPS warrant. She was released with a future court date
Break and enter in Wallaceburg
Sometime last week someone entered an abandoned home by prying open a secure door and removing a ladies Schwinn bicycle valued at $400 and two children’s bikes and miscellaneous decorations. Police say there are no suspects but the incident remains under investigation.
Chatham man charged with shoplifting
A 53-year-old Chatham man is facing charges after allegedly shoplifting from Sobeys in Chatham.
Police say the incident occurred Friday at around 9:40 a.m.
The man reportedly concealed packages of striploin steaks and fruit inside a backpack and then left the store making no attempt to pay for the food valued at $95. Police were called and the man was located.
Police say the 53-year-old Chatham man was arrested at 9:55 a.m. and charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000.
He was searched and drugs were found on him. He was additionally arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
The man was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he is held for a bail hearing.
Woman arrested on outstanding warrant
A 32-year-old woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant Friday afternoon.
Police say the woman was released from police custody on December 4th with a court date of December 18th. She did not appear at court and a warrant for her arrest was issued.
The 32-year-old woman was located in Wallaceburg Friday at 2 p.m. and arrested on the warrant for failing to attend court. She was transported to CKPS Headquarters and later released with a future court date.
Wallaceburg man arrested for fraud
A 30-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested on an outstanding warrant Friday afternoon.
Police say the warrant was issued for the man in October 2018 for three counts of fraud under $5000.
Friday at 2 p.m. the 30-year-old man was located in Wallaceburg and arrested on the warrant. He was transported to CKPS Headquarters and later released with a future court date.
Man arrested for public drunkenness
Police say a drunk 23-year-old Morpeth man was located on King Street W. in Chatham Friday at around 12:30 a.m. He was arrested and charged with being intoxicated in a public place. The man was transported to CKPS Headquarters due to the belief he was unable to care for himself.
He was released when sober.
Chatham man arrested on outstanding warrant
Friday night at 6:38 p.m. a man was observed inside a building located on Grand Avenue W. in Chatham. The man had previously been trespassed from this location, therefore, police were called.
At 6:54 p.m. the man was stopped by an officer. Police learned that the man had outstanding warrants for his arrest. The 35-year-old Chatham man was arrested on the warrants and transported to CKPS Headquarters where he is held for a bail hearing.
