National Day of Remembrance and Action to End Violence against Women
Since 1991, December 6th is the National Day of Remembrance and Action to End Violence against Women in Canada.
Twenty nine years ago today, 14 women were murdered at Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal for no other reason than they were women.
Every year, communities across the nation are encouraged to mark this anniversary with an event.
Tonight at 6:30 p.m. everyone is invited to the John D Bradley Convention Centre in Chatham for the screening of the documentary film ‘Listen to Me’. The event is free and refreshments will be provided. For more information, call the Chatham-Kent Sexual Assault Crisis Centre at 519-354-8908.
