Men charged with public drunkenness in Chatham

Two men were arrested for being intoxicated in a public place last night.

A 20-year-old man was arrested on Sheldon Avenue in Chatham.

Police say the man was unable to care for himself and transported to police headquarters for his own safety.

He has been charged with being intoxicated in a public place and will be released when sober.

A second man was arrested at McDonald’s in Chatham. Police say the 55-year-old Chatham man was unable to care for himself and transported to police headquarters for his own safety.

He has also been charged with being intoxicated in a public place.  He will be released when sober.
