Fatal crash in Lakeshore
UPDATE: OPP say the driver of the motor vehicle, Jacob Cesare, 23-years-old of Windsor, has been charged with Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content / Motor Vehicle / Cause accident with Fatality, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
Provincial police say charges are pending following a two-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a 64-year-old man Saturday morning.
Essex County Ontario Provincial Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on County Road 42 at Patillo Road in Lakeshore at around 6:30 a.m.
An eastbound motor vehicle was turning left onto Patillo Road when it collided with a westbound motorcycle.
Police say the motorcyclist, Armando Zilio, of Lakeshore, suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
OPP Traffic Collision Investigators assisted with the investigation.
County Road 42 at Patillo Road has since been reopened.
OPP say the investigation is continuing and charges are pending against the driver of the motor vehicle. Alcohol has been deemed to be a factor in the collision.
