Suspect in Windsor murder arrested in Calgary
A man wanted by Windsor police for first-degree murder was arrested Monday in Calgary.
On Friday July 6th, Windsor Police Service was notified that a suspect in a 2017 murder case, Sumar Al-Rubayi, had been located in Calgary, and arrested by Calgary Police Service.
On Monday, investigators from the Windsor Police Service attended Calgary and arrested Al-Rubayi on the strength of an outstanding arrest warrant for charges including first degree murder.
Sumar Al-Rubayi had a court date on Tuesday regarding his charges.
Investigators say the 23-year-old victim was shot at a party in the area of the 1100 block of Heathfield Court on November 4th, 2017.
Two other men were arrested on November 6th, 2017 and charged with first degree murder: Idrisso Palmer, 19, and Neil Tap, 20.
Palmer was also charged with breaching recognizance.
Tap was also charged with four counts of breaching a probation condition and two counts of possessing a firearm while prohibited
A 24-year-old woman from Windsor, Dazzmirhal Scott, was also arrested at the time and charged with two counts of being an accessory after the fact to murder and possession of a prohibited weapon (unrelated to the murder)
