Man charged after serious crash in St. Clair Township

A 41-year-old man is facing charges after a serious crash in St. Clair Township Friday morning.

On July 6th, at approximately 6:45 a.m., members of the Lambton Ontario Provincial Police attended the 1000 Block of Stanley Line near Indian Creek Road to investigate a single motor vehicle collision.

Investigators say a black 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche had lost control, left the roadway and had struck a utility pole. A witness at the scene advised the OPP that they had observed a male who appeared to be standing in the area of the collision. Prior to OPP arrival the man left the area, eventually disappearing into a rural bush lot.

Local OPP Officers, West Region OPP Emergency Response Team and West Region OPP Canine Officers have searched for the man.

The man was located at his home Saturday at around 12:30 a.m.

OPP say Ben S. Taylor, of St. Clair Township was charged with two allegations contravening of the Highway Traffic Act:

1)   Failing to remain at the scene of an accident

2)   Fail to report accident

He must appear at Sarnia Traffic Court on August 10th in order to address the allegations.
