Windsor police investigate crash that left cyclist with serious injuries

A man was taken to hospital Sunday morning after being hit by a transport truck in Windsor.
Patrol officers were dispatched to the area of College Avenue at Elm Avenue at around 11 a.m. for a cyclist that was struck by a commercial transport truck.
Officers arrived and observed a male in his 70’s being attended to by Windsor Fire and Rescue. He was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
Witnesses advised that the truck and the cyclist were both travelling eastbound on College Avenue.  The cyclist collided with the truck and fell to the ground.  Several citizens came to provide assistance to the cyclist and to call 911.
Officers from the Windsor Police Accident Reconstruction Unit attended to process the scene.
Police are asking any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to call.
