Driver charged after trailer detached from tractor on Highway 401
A 45-year-old man has been charged after a trailer detached from a tractor on Highway 401 yesterday.
On February 27th around 5:30 p.m. Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 401 near Victoria Road.
Investigation revealed the trailer had detached from the tractor unit while the Commercial Motor Vehicle was entering the eastbound on-ramp to the highway.
OPP say the male driver, Peter Dyck, 45-years-old from Highgate, Ontario was charged with operate unsafe combination of vehicles – commercial motor vehicle, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
