This upcoming holiday season, North America’s only coal miners chorus are preparing to take audiences on a journey like no other, with their first ever solo Christmas album, Christmas in the Mine.

The Men of the Deeps will be visiting theatres, spreading their unique brand of holiday cheer to Ontario audiences in Kingston, Burlington, Brantford, Meaford, Welland, North Bay, Deep River, Ottawa, Markham, St. Catharines and Chatham.

Men of the Deeps Conductor Stephen Muise, says the project marks the first ever solo recording of Christmas music from the choir in their entire fifty-one year history.  “We’re always busy performing during the holidays, so we do have some great holiday tunes in our repertoire, but we’ve never had the opportunity to record them, until now.  Those songs and stories were important to capture. Now we have them to share forever.”

For the tour performances, the singing miners intend to bring their CD to life on stage; to take audiences underground, to share the true experience of celebrating Christmas in a real coal mine, jolly miner style.

As part of the Christmas in the Mine Ontario release and tour, The Men of the Deeps will perform at Chatham’s Capitol Theatre on December 9th at 8 p.m.  Tickets available by calling 519-354-8338 or toll-free 1-866-807-7770 or by visiting online at
