Heat warning still in effect

A heat warning is still in effect for Chatham-Kent – Rondeau Park and Windsor – Leamington – Essex County.

Environment Canada says temperatures today are expected to reach 31 degrees with humidex values in the mid thirties. The overnight low is expected to be around 19 degrees bringing relief from the heat and falling below criteria for the heat warning.

Watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.

Drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty and stay in a cool place.

Seek a cool place such as a tree-shaded area, swimming pool, shower or bath, or air-conditioned spot like a public building.

Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
