On Saturday, May 6th from 1-4 p.m., join local artist Laurie Langford at ARTspace (165 ½ King Street W. in Chatham) for a poster workshop exploring the art of the women’s suffrage movement. Participants will be able to make their own suffrage poster, and anyone ages 10-29 can submit their design to Historica Canada’s Votes for Women poster design competition for a chance to win up to $500 in gift cards.
This workshop is open to all ages and is presented in conjunction with Buxton National Historic Site & Museum and the Chatham-Kent Museum, and is sponsored by IODE Captain Garnet Brackin Chapter, Chatham. Until May 12th, see The First Hundred Years: A Century of Women’s Suffrage in Ontario at the Chatham branch of the Chatham-Kent Public Library (120 Queen Street in Chatham) to learn more about the fight for voting rights in Ontario.
