Argument over Christmas gift debt leads to mischief charge

Police say an argument over money owed for a Christmas gift has led to a mischief charge for a 22-year-old Chatham man.

The man left a Lacroix Street home with his girlfriend’s phone at about 8 p.m. and then smashed it on the driveway. They had argued about money for a shared gift.

He has been released with a promise to appear in court on January 8th.
