Woman arrested for DUI after crashing

s police 9Just before 11:00 p.m. last night, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Victoria Avenue in Chatham.  The woman struck a lamp post however despite the extensive damage to the front of her vehicle, she continue driving towards her residence.

Officers located the woman and through investigation believed she was driving while under the influence of alcohol.  The woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters for breath tests.

Aimee Willimot, 31 years, of 73 ½ Taylor Avenue in Chatham has been charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.  She was released when sober pending a future court date of November 13, 2015.
