In what Chatham-Kent police are calling a vicious assault, a Wallaceburg woman was attacked and had to be air-lifted to London where she is in stable condition.

The attack happened at 1:45 a.m. on Elgin Street.

Police on scene were only able to confirm what was heard on the EMS dispatch, that the woman was stabbed during a home invasion, but were not able to comment about the attack in detail.

C-K firefighters along with a second ambulance were called to the scene to aid in caring for the woman before being transported to Sydenham District Hospital in Wallaceburg. The helicopter landed at the hospital in Wallaceburg where the woman was taken to the waiting Ornge air ambulance and taken to London.

The Chatham-Kent police Major Crime Unit is investigating and they are looking for information about this crime. Anyone with information can call constable Dan Hamilton at 519-436-6600 extension #284. Anonymous callers can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and may be eligible for a cash reward.

Meth heads are human too. It doesn’t matter if she owes money or not! A crime is a crime. Money and drugs are replaceable a life is not.

Would you say this if it was your family member !!! Shame on you

Really? Someone is fighting for their life and their family is going through this and this is what you have to say? And you don’t even have the decency to put your real name down? No one deserves for this to happen to them. I don’t know one family that hasn’t had addiction touch them in some way, so truly you are ticking off more than one person with this comment. Have respect for the girl, her family and especially for yourself.

no one deserves to have their home broken into and getting stabbed. Whether she is or is not on drugs, this woman has relatives. Wonderful compassion shown by some very immature, Nast people. I sincerely hope you never have a family member in this position.

I grew on on that property and was raised in that house by my grandmother , my mother and brother still live there today My sister was helping that young lady out God bless both of them. knowing that she was trying and had her battles she did not deserve that horrible event , I can’t even image.Steeling or drugs, really even if it was to go in and do that to someone, spineless I would like to see the person or persons responsible be deal with before the law ,jail will be getting off way too easy.

And people wonder what is wrong with this world. I don’t care if she’s a meth head, crack head, pot head or anything. She’s a person that was in her home and someone went in her home and stabbed her!!!! Thoughts and prayers to her and her family. That’s what we should be seeing on these posts.
