Stabbing in Chatham

s police 5Chatham-Kent police are reporting a stabbing last night in Chatham. At about 11 p.m. last night an altercation between the victim and the accused took place on Coverdale Street. The victim had observed the accused and a brief discussion turned into an argument. The stab wounds were minor and the victim also had a small laceration on his hand. He was treated at the hospital and released.

The youth faces a charge of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He is in police custody, waiting for a bail hearing.

    The young offenders act needs to change if they did a crime and face any kind of punishment by law then there names need to be given out
