Mysterious Package shuts down lobby of CKPS

The lobby of the Chatham-Kent Police Service was quarantined and a local HAZMAT team notified yesterday at about 2:30 p.m. Police discovered the package was from a company that specializes in pranks, called Mysterious Package in Toronto.

Police say the package did not contain anything hazardous or suspicious. They added that the building was not evacuated.

The Chatham-Kent police are reminding residents that if they receive a suspicious package in the mail, then do not transport the item, please call 911 immediately so police can contain any possible affected areas.
