John Sigurjonsson 1936 - 2015

Chatham-Kent and the cycling community has lost it’s biggest supporter. John Sigurjonsson was a resident in Chatham-Kent for more than 50 years and he recently passed away at his home at age 79.

Known for his tireless passion for improving his community, John advocated for bike lanes and progressive thought in municipal affairs on his blog and via a popular Facebook group he founded. John was well-known to everyone in local media with his letters to the editor, which would always get published.

He was a Union Gas employee for 37 years. A small private ceremony will take place.

John contributed often to CKReview News as a columnist and his views gave insights that cannot be replaced. Chatham-Kent has lost it’s most sincere and passionate advocate.
