18-year-old charged after pick-up collides with tomato wagon

Yesterday, just after 6 p.m., the Chatham-Kent police attended a two vehicle collision on Countryview Line between Lindsay Road and Centre Side Road north of Chatham.

An 18-year-old male driver and 13-year-old male passenger were travelling eastbound on Countryview Line when their GMC pick-up struck the rear of a tomato wagon being pulled by a John Deer tractor. The two youth were taken to Chatham-Kent PGH where they were treated for non-lifethreatening injuries. The 75-year-old female driver of the tractor was uninjured. Total damage was estimated at $25,000.

The 18-year-old was charged with careless driving.
