17-year-old robs Subway by knifepoint
A 17-year-old robbed Subway on Keil Drive last night in Chatham while brandishing a knife. He had his face concealed when he approached the counter. The employee turned over an undisclosed amount of cash and the youth fled the area. The employee wasn’t injured.
A sharp-eyed witness saw the teen flee in a car, took down the car description and licence plate number and called the police. The teen was arrested at 1 a.m. and has been charged with robbery and possession of a dangerous weapon. He is being held in custody for a bail hearing.
