A new farmers market is coming soon to Wallaceburg to help supply
the Sydenham area with fresh produce, deli, and professional crafts.
Vendors from all businesses will be welcome to rent a space every Saturday to sell their products, with the hopes that products will be professional, fresh , and affordable.
“We originally set forth to build a project that would put Wallaceburg on the forefront of an agricultural movement. We want to help promote farm fresh business and local business. While the process has taken it’s fair share of time, we feel as though we are getting down to the final stages before opening the doors to the community!”, said Chris Glassford.
Chris Glassford, owner of the Market, is in the process of running a market research survey to help set up his business plan for the future development of the company.

when and where?
The market is looking to be opened sometime in the next month or so, there are some challenges that need to be overcome first. The market space that is being prospected at this point is on hwy 78, five minutes from Wallaceburg and fifteen minutes from Dresden.
We are surrounded by some of the riches , most productive farmland in Ont. , and most of our produce is imported . That is so wrong . I will enjoy this , since where I lived for over 20 years we had a farmer’s market and it’s a huge success and still going strong .
Helga, You are absolutely right! Chatham-Kent has some of the most fertile lands that Southwestern Ontario has to offer, and we often find ourselves importing our foods as opposed to supporting the local growers and producers. It’s time to step up and support local, and Wallaceburg is going to be at the forefront!
It is unfortunate that it will not be located in town, particularly for those people who don’t drive, but the idea is fantastic!
The inter-urban CK Transit bus line is right on route with the market space.
