Police say they may have more information on the Thamesville incident where a grade 6 student was asked if he wanted a ride home at 8 p.m. in the rain.
A second person has come forward to say she saw a suspicious vehicle at the same at 5 p.m. in the area. A parent herself, the woman described an older rusty gray SUV with an extremely loud muffler. She says the driver sat at a stop sign with the window down for a prolonged period. She had no description of the driver.
Another parent has since come forward to report that she observed a suspicious vehicle on the same date around 5 p.m. on Railroad Street. The vehicle is described as an old rusted dark gray SUV with an extremely loud muffler. The driver sat at the stop sign for a time with the window down. There is no description of the driver as there was no interaction between this parent and her children.
The man was last seen in the Wallace and Jane Street area after asking the boy if he wanted a ride. He is described as having brownish gray hair and a white beard. The grade six student said the vehicle was an older black rusty jeep.
Police say they are trying to find out if these incidents are related.
