A 26-year-old Windsor man has been charged with stealing a $20 lottery ticket while he was paying restitution for stealing $30 of gas last summer.
Chatham-Kent police went to Windsor and arrested him yesterday.
In June 2014, he pumped $30 worth of fuel into his vehicle at Mac’s Milk in Tilbury and drove off. Police found him and he was charged with theft and was back in the store to pay restitution. As the clerk was writing him a receipt, he slid the lottery ticket display open and stole the lottery ticket. Again he has been charged with theft under $5000.
A warrant was issued for his arrest when he failed to attend police headquarters for fingerprints and failed to attend court. He is now in Chatham waiting for a bail hearing.
