Chatham-Kent reminded that impaired driving carries heavy consequences

It is a crime under the Criminal Code of Canada to operate a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and the consequences are serious. You may lose your licence, have your vehicle impounded, need to pay an administrative monetary penalty, need to attend an education or treatment program, be fined upon conviction, be required to install an ignition interlock device in your vehicle, spend time in jail and possibly have to live the rest of your life knowing you killed an innocent person

This weekend, please plan ahead should you be indulging in a few beverages.  Make arrangements to stay overnight, take a cab or use a designated driver.
