Winners announced in Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards

This years Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards was filled with celebrity appearances, cameos, musical guests and of course as always, Nickelodeon slime.

In the pre-show leading up to the big awards ceremony YTV’s own Suki received the highest viewer votes in which made him the recipient of a slime shower.

The host of the evening Nick Jonas kicked off the night with his performance of the hit songs ‘Chains’ and ‘Jealous’.

Jamie Fox presented the Favourite Movie Actress award to Emma Stone, a very well deserved award for her role in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Chris Rock emerged from the giant Nickelodeon blimp to present Modern Family with the award for Favourite Family TV Show and following that Austin & Alley won the Favourite Kid’s TV Show as announced by Tia Mowry of the former show Sister/Sister and Smart Guy. Ross Lynch and Laura Marano two leads of Austin & Alley took home the Favourite TV Actor award as well as the Favourite TV Actress Award.

Canadian singer and song writer Sean Mendes teamed up with Nick Cannon to announce the Kid’s Choice Award for Favourite Cartoon which was awarded to the 9 time winner Spongebob SquarePants who won the award 7 years consecutively.

The Flash’s Grant Gustin and Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D’s Chloe Bennett were thrilled to present the award for Favourite New Artist to Fifth Harmony a band formed on the Xfactor TV series.

Debby Ryan of the TV series Jessie introduced Iggy Azalea who performed her hit song Trouble.

A surprise guest appearance from Paul Blart (Kevin James) with his beautiful co-announcer Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting of The Big Bang Theory announced Liam Hemsworth of the Hunger Games: Mocking Jay part 1 as the Favourite Male Action Star. Hunger Games also took home the award for Favourite Movie.

Nickelodeon’s first ever human slime car-wash took the cast of the Thundermans on the messiest car-wash ever, filling the Nickelodeon convertible with gallons of slime.

Other notable award winners were Ben Stiller for Favourite Movie Actor in Night at the Museum, Jennifer Lawrence (X-Men and Hunger Games) for Favourite Movie Actress, Big Hero 6 for the Favourite Animated Movie, Selena Gomez for the Favourite Female Singer and despite losing Zayn Malik, One Direction took home the award for Favourite Band.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid was announced as the Favourite choice of book, Minecraft as the Favourite choice of game and The Voice as the Favourite Talent Competition Show.

Adam Sandler made a guest appearance with the voice of Frozen’s Olaf, Josh Gads. The pair announced the award winner for Favourite Reality show to the Lifetime series Dance Moms. Adam then promptly shot off a large slime canon on his co-announcer and the audience.

Jennifer Lopez announced Nick Jonas as the Favourite Male Singer and Chris Pratt presented Angelina Jolie with the Favourite Villains award for her portrayal as Maleficent.

The show was topped off with a special musical presentation by 5 Seconds of Summer who performed a cover of What I Like About You, a hit song made famous by the Romantics.
