Minor injuries in three vehicle collision involving a schoolbus

No students were injured, but a 63-year-old Port Lambton woman was sent to hospital with minor injuries after a three vehicle collision on St. Clair St. near Regency Drive this morning at about 7:30 a.m.

A school bus was travelling southbound on St. Clair Street when it stopped for traffic. A van failed to stop and rear ended a car that was stopped behind the bus causing the car to hit the bus.

There were 18 students on the bus at the time of the collision.

The driver of the car was taken by ambulance to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with minor injuries.

The driver of the van, a 75-year-old Chatham man was charged with careless driving.

Total damage was estimated at $30,000.
