Police say a 5-year-old boy was seriously injured this morning in a two vehicle collision on Middle Line near Allison Line in Blenheim.

At about 8:30 a.m., a van was travelling on Middle Line towards Blenheim when the driver lost control, crossed the centre line and was struck by an on-coming vehicle.

The boy was taken by ambulance to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention.

Total damage was estimated at $15,000.

Middle Line between Allison Line and Industrial Road remains closed as officers continue their investigation.
