Two men dead after early morning collision

Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a three-vehicle fatal collision on Longwoods Road in the Municipality of Southwest Middlesex.

This morning at 6:41 a.m. police were called to the collision on Longwoods Road between Pratt Siding Road and Old Airport Road. Police learned that an eastbound Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) crossed the centre line when it collided head-on with a west-bound pick-up truck. Both vehicles were then struck by a west bound transport truck. As a result of the collision the lone occupant of the pick-up truck, an adult male, died at the scene of the crash. The adult male driver of the SUV was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the transport was assessed by paramedics at the scene.

The OPP Technical Traffic Investigation (TTCI) Team will be attending to aid with the investigation.

Longwoods Road has re-opened following the OPP investigation.

The identities of the deceased parties are being withheld pending next of kin notification.
