Two local residents honoured by the YMCA
The YMCA inducted two long time Chatham-Kent residents into the YMCA Fellowship of Distinction Induction Ceremony on November 17. The award honours individuals who have help build the YMCA across Southwestern Ontario, recognizing those individuals who have played instrumental roles with the YMCA, those that have left an imprint on their community and have contributed to making the YMCA one of the leading charitable institutions.
Darcy McKeough and John Lawrence were two of eight new inductees revealed on the Wall of Distinction at the YMCA Jerry McCaw Family Centre in Sarnia. There are 43 Fellowship of Distinction members on display. The wall represents those that have been instrumental in shaping the Y from as early as 1917 through to present day. The YMCA Fellowship of Distinction is the highest award that the association can bestow on an individual.
