During the investigation the officer detected a strong odour of what was believed to be marijuana from inside the vehicle. A vehicle search was conducted and resulted in the seizure of about 115 grams of suspected marijuana.
As a result, the driver, 32-year-old Christopher Pegg, from Barrie, has been charged with possession of marijuana over 30 grams and speeding.
Pegg is to appear in a Chatham court on January 8 to answer to the charges.
