Woman escapes police after foiled break-in

s police 7Police interrupted a break-in by two women in Chatham yesterday afternoon. One of the women was arrested and the other got away at about 2:30 p.m.

The Chatham-Kent police say one of the women was standing in the driveway with a backpack while the other was pulling on the door of a home. Police identified the woman in the driveway from previous incidents and stopped to investigate.

The 27-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with break and enter and possessing break-in tools. She was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Police continue to search for the second woman.
