A sharp-eyed citizen called police after seeing a man smash and break a glass door of an apartment building on Thames Street last night. The call came in at about 7 p.m. and Chatham-Kent police were provided with a description.
Just before 8 p.m. police found the man on William Street North where he was arrested.
Joshua VanKesteren, 22, of Sheldon Avenue in Chatham has been charged with mischief. He was released with conditions and a court date.
