Wanted man turns himself in

The Chatham-Kent police arrested a wanted man after he turned himself in yesterday.

As previously reported on February 18, police responded to a break and enter at a residence on Tweedsmuir Avenue East. At the time the homeowner reported that a man, unknown to the homeowner, entered his home while he was cooking supper. The homeowner confronted the man who fled the area on foot. A police investigation identified the man responsible.

On July 23, Jamieson Brideau, aged 40, of Ninth Line in Raleigh Township was charged with break and enter. He was released with conditions and a court date.  On August 8, he failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Yesterday morning he turned himself in to police at their headquarters. He was arrested on the outstanding warrant and released with a court date.
