Three accidents in Chatham on Monday: police

The Chatham-Kent police are reporting three accidents that occurred yesterday. No injuries were reported in any of the accidents.

Around 1:30 p.m., police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Grand Avenue East between Barthe Street and Joseph Street in Chatham.

Damage was estimated at $7500.

An 88-year-old Chatham man was charged with making a left turn while failing to afford reasonable opportunity to avoid a collision.

Then just after 4 p.m. police attended a two-vehicle collision on McNaughton Avenue East between the Landings and Prince Albert Road in Chatham.

Total damage was estimated at $8000.

A 29-year-old man was charged with careless driving.

Finally, last night around 9 p.m. emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle collision at William Street and Park Street in Chatham.

Total damage was estimated at $12,000.

A 24-year-old Chatham man was charged with failing to stop for a red light.
