The cause of a fire that destroyed a mobile home at 452 Grand Avenue East has been undetermined. According to the Chatham-Kent Fire Department (CKFD), the home was worth about $20,000 before the blaze.
“Fire crews made a quick attack and that minimized the damage to adjacent properties”, said Scott Sproule, CKFD spokesperson.
Firefighters from stations 1 and 2 in Chatham responded to the blaze just after 5 p.m. The home was completely lost in the fire.
Updated August 4: Cause of the blaze was determined to be a faulty electrical cord.
