A Chatham man fled the scene of an accident this morning after rear-ending another vehicle that stopped behind him at a red light.
Around 12:15 a.m., at Keil Drive and Richmond Street, a 28-year-old man from Raleigh Township had stopped at a red light, when the vehicle in front of him reversed and struck his vehicle and then took off. The Raleigh Township man called police and followed the driver to a residence on Tweedsmuir Avenue East.
Damages are estimated at $1000.
Shane Parker, 29 years, of Woods Street in Chatham has been charged with failing to remain at the scene of an accident. He has been released with conditions and was provided with a court date.
