Harwich man faces charges after breaking a man’s nose

A 25-year-old Harwich Township man has been arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm and assault. He was also charged with possession of a prohibited weapon after police found his brass knuckles.

At about 3 a.m. on the 11th of May, the accused man was at a Chatham residence in search of a former girlfriend. Once at the address an altercation took place with a 26-year-old male victim who suffered a broken nose, lacerations and contusions. The victim was treated at the hospital and released.

The suspect left the scene in a vehicle but was found in Chatham a short time later by Chatham-Kent police.

The accused was processed and released with conditions and with a court date.
