OTTAWA - Statistics Canada says travel to Canada from the United States rose for the first time in four months in February, while Canadian travel to the United States declined for a third consecutive month.
The agency says travel to the United States declined 0.6 per cent in February compared with the previous month.
While overnight travel rose, it was not enough to offset a decrease in same-day car travel.
U.S. residents took 1.6 million trips to Canada in February, up 0.8 per cent from January.
Travel from overseas countries to Canada declined 1.9 per cent from January.
Canadian travel to overseas countries was unchanged at 816,000 trips.
