Suspicious man arrested in Chatham

s police 9The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following a trespassing incident in Chatham last night.

Around 5:50 p.m. police received information on a suspicious man standing next to a car in a driveway on Cross Street in Chatham. The man was dressed in dark clothing and was carrying a backpack. The man was approached by the homeowner and fled the area on foot. Officers flooded the area and the man was taken into custody. The man’s backpack was found to be full of tools. Jeffrey MacDonald, 27, of King Street West in Chatham has been charged with trespassing and having break-in instruments. He was released with conditions pending a court date.
