Sarnia man charged with aggravated assault of a 70-year-old man

s police 2A man who involved in assault earlier this week has been charged with aggravated assault.

On April 8, police responded to a residence in Blenheim for an assault complaint. Police found a 70-year-old man with facial injuries who was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. He was later transferred to Hotel Dieu Hospital in Windsor where he remains in stable condition.

Police learned that the victim was assaulted by a man known to him who also stole the victim’s wallet before leaving the residence. A 46-year-old Sarnia man has been charged with aggravated assault, forcible confinement and robbery. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
