A Greyhound bus travelling through Chatham to Windsor broke down last night. The bus driver was forced to pull into the Greyhound bus depot on Grand Avenue East. The driver contacted police to report that a man aboard the bus had been drinking alcohol and was harassing some of the other passengers. He was not welcome to continue to Windsor once the replacement bus arrived.
Police spoke with the man and detected alcohol from his breath. Police also learned that he was bound by three separate probation orders, all containing the condition not to buy, have or consume alcohol.
The 53-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with three counts of breach of probation. He has been held in custody for a bail hearing.
