A 25-year-old Chatham man has been charged with assault and mischief under $5000 after a disturbance in Chatham yesterday.
Around 5:45 p.m. the man confronted his mother at her residence and demanded money. When the woman offered her concerns about his spending habits, the man slapped the woman’s hands, causing the bowl she was holding to fall and break. He man then went to the living room and smashed a lamp against a wall.
He has been held in custody for a bail hearing.
