A five-dollar shoplifting incident in Wallaceburg yesterday has led to a 40-year-old man being charged with theft, possession of stolen property and threatening.
The man entered No Frill’s grocery store and concealed two packages of chocolate eggs, before leaving without paying for them. An employee confronted the man about the theft and was threatened. The man fled the area on foot. About an hour later, a woman returned the eggs to the grocery store.
Police identified the man responsible for the theft and he was arrested yesterday morning. He spent overnight in custody waiting for a bail hearing this morning.
