Yesterday morning around 11:10 a.m. emergency crews responded to a two vehicle collision on Richmond Street near Byng Avenue in Chatham.
A woman was travelling westbound on Richmond Street when she lost control of her car and struck the rear of a transport truck that was turning left onto Richmond Street from Byng Avenue. The 64-year-old Erieau woman and her passenger were both transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention. Damage to the car was estimated at $7000.
The driver of the transport truck did not stop. Police believe the driver may not have realized that they had been struck. Police would like to find the transport truck involved in the collision and urge the driver to please contact the investigating officer, constable Jason Herder at 519-436-6600 extension #87234.
