The Chatham-Kent police arrested a man on CKPS’s most wanted list yesterday.
The man was wanted after he failed to attend court. On December 9, police saw a suspicious vehicle in front of an apartment building on Little Street North in Blenheim. A query of the licence plates revealed that they were not registered to the vehicle. Police initiated a traffic stop, however the driver sped away. Police pursued the vehicle until the driver and passenger fled on foot on Snow Avenue. The men were found on English Street and arrested for failing to stop for police. They were both charged and released from custody with conditions pending a future court date.
On January 21, the passenger failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was also charged with breaching his probation order.
Around 1:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon, police found the man on St. Clair Street in Chatham where he was arrested. The 24-year-old man of no fixed address has been held in custody for a bail hearing.
