The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man in connection with a shoplifting incident in Chatham.
Just before 6 p.m. yesterday, the man attended Walmart on St. Clair Street and was observed concealing a phone case in his pants pocket. The man left the store making no attempt to pay for the case valued at $84. An employee followed the man outside and called police.
Officers attended and the phone case was recovered. A 26-year-old Chatham man was charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. He was released with a court date.
